Commencement of B.A.LL.B. 5 years course including B.A.LLB Honours and 2 Years LL.M.

Duration

The Bachelor of Laws (B.A., LLB) including B.A. , LLB HONOURS is a full time 5years Semester System Course. Sessions starts in July.
For the Masters of Law, Session starts from July onwards.
Classes

The classes are held between 7.30 A.M. to 11.50 A.M . and 11.50 A.M. to 12.50 P.M. for Honours.
The Classes for LL.M held between 9:05 A.M. to 11:50 A.M.
Eligibility

The admission to the Bachelor of Laws (B.A.LL.B.) Course is done, following the merit list prepared On the basis of the Entrance Examination conducted by the University of Calcutta. Any person passed H.S. (10+2 level) examination with minimum 45% (40% in case of S.C.; S.T.; and P.H.) marks in aggregate (taking into consideration best of 4 papers excluding WBCHSE Environment Science) will be eligible for admission to the B.A.LL.B. , Course; the person appearing in the (10+2 level) examination will be allowed to sit the Entrance Examination. But their admission to the B.A.LL.B. , Course will be subject to the condition of successful completion of (10+2 level) Examination at the time of Counseling of the admission. The admission of the B.A.LL.B.(Honours) Course from the Sixth Semester is done through merit list considering the marks of (10+2 level) examination and First Semester to Fourth Semester marks together after inviting application by the Secretary, Faculty Council for Post Graduate Studies in Law from time to time.

2 Year LL.M.

Admissions are made on the basis of an admission test directly conducted by University of Calcutta.

Admission Procedure

5 Year B.A., LL.B.

Admission commences immediately after the publication of results of the Higher Secondary Examination. Admissions are made on the basis of an aptitude test directly conducted by the University of Calcutta. For the said purpose advertisements are made by the University in leading newspapers. Admission forms for the said aptitude test are issued directly by the University on production of Pass Certificate of Higher Secondary or equivalent examination.

5 Year B.A., LL.B. (Honours)

Admission to the Honours Course is done in the 6th Semester. For B.A.LL.B.( Hons ) a merit list is prepared on the basis of marks obtained in Higher Secondary Examination(10+2) and in the 1st to 5th Semester B.A.LL.B. Examination. Total number of seats in B.A. LL.B (Hons) is 30 (thirty).

2 Year LL.M.

Admissions are made on the basis of an admission test directly conducted by University of Calcutta.
